VDM3 for Quake 3 Arena
A tournament arena I designed around late 2005. With this level I had one goal in mind, develop a fast paced 1vs1 level that required each player to take constant risks. I accomplished this by creating elaborate paths to items, that could easily be shortened via rocket jumping(gaining extra jump height through self-damage). I also decided to take a different approach to construction with this level. The inital layout was designed with 160x160 game unit blocks. The initial restriction on construction gave the map a solid claustrophobic feel, I am quite pleased with this outcome.
